Artistic Stones

As an expat artist trying to get established in China, I count myself lucky to have met kiwisual; Not only does it offer me an interesting crossover project that allows me to know more about myself as an artist, it also gives me the opportunity to connect to the bigger art world both locally and internationally. It inspires me a lot that kiwisual is so brave to have taken up the role of trailblazer in the Chinese art scene. Let’s do it!

Annamaria Szabados, a Hungarian artist, has been living and painting in China since 2010. She focuses on contemporary paintings to express her feelings and thoughts. She uses very different tools and techniques to transfer the paint onto the canvas; the effects are sometimes  soft and other times very rough. Most of her paintings are not based on a plan, but she just lets the canvas and her feelings guide her hands to choose the next step, the next color or the next movement; one decision after another, it slowly develops itself to the final work.
